ADH/ASD Assessments

Seeking answers about ADHD or ASD (Autism)? At Cheshire Wellness Centre, we understand the frustration of not knowing, the relief that comes with clarity, and the need for support post-diagnosis.

That’s why our ADHD and ASD assessments are designed to support you or your child throughout the diagnosis journey and beyond. Our team of dedicated specialists ensure a smooth process and personalised pathway.

What is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a behavioural disorder that interferes with the individual’s day-to-day functioning and/or development.

What is ASD (Autism)?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that affects how the individual learns, communicates and interacts with others.

Importance of ADHD & ASD assessments / diganosis
A diagnosis is more than just an answer; it can be life-changing for the individual. Despite this, there’s a huge gap in access to proper assessment and diagnosis. In the UK, 2.6 million people have ADHD, yet 79% remain undiagnosed.¹ Similarly, an estimated 1.2 million people have ASD, with 62.5% undiagnosed.²

These individuals spend their day-to-day battling, often debilitating, symptoms; either unaware of the underlying root cause, unable to seek a diagnosis and support, or sat on a long waitlist.

What we’re doing about it
We’ve designed our ADHD assessment as a full-circle journey, guiding you or your child throughout the diagnosis process and beyond. After a diagnosis, we offer personalised support options to ensure a smooth transition towards managing ADHD effectively, building confidence and embracing unique strengths.

Assessment Process
Our multi-step ADHD and ASD assessments ensure we gain a complete understanding of you or your child’s unique experiences and needs.

Screening Pack
Before diving into an assessment, we screen you or your child for ADHD or ASD. The screening pack includes questionnaires around perspectives of what may be going on.

This phase is crucial to determine which assessment is required or if therapy is recommended for other underlying problems.

Assessment Appointment
Our ADHD and ASD assessments are held face-to-face at our welcoming centre, to ensure the best support and understanding for you or your child.

Feedback and Report
We strive to provide feedback on the results within two weeks, during a personalised appointment with your psychologist (who carried out the assessment).

After a Diagnosis
Medication is an option for individuals with ADHD, however, there is no medication for ASD. If you fit the necessary criteria, you can discuss ADHD medication with our prescribing pharmacist, who specialises in ADHD.

Beyond medication, we have a team of counsellors, psychologists and other professionals who can offer personalised support and advice on navigating a diagnosis.
