Empowering you to become your own self-health coach and improve your health and wellbeing
Health Coaching is a practice of health education within a coaching framework and is underpinned by scientific research, psychological principles and behaviour change techniques.
Why have health coaching?
Sometimes people don’t need to have in-depth psychological therapy if their health issues or lifestyle habits do not stem from mental health difficulties, specific traumatic life events or distress for example. Rather, people may benefit from health coaching sessions to help gain and use the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become active participants in their health and feel empowered to reach their self-identified health and wellbeing goals.
How can Health Coaching help you achieve your health goals?
Health coaching provides a supportive environment to help clients facilitate self-awareness of the underlying barriers to goal attainment. Various psychological techniques, proven to be effective in helping people make lasting changes are used to enable long-lasting health behaviour to change in a safe and friendly environment.
Who would be suitable for Health Coaching?
Adults who would like to:
- Lose weight
- Increase fitness and exercise
- Eatwell and/or create a healthy eating routine by improving their eating habits
- Reduce the risk of developing lifestyle conditions such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease
- Create a healthy lifestyle by creating a ‘realistic’ daily and weekly routine
- Set and achieve realistic health and wellbeing goals
How many sessions will I need?
During your consultation, you will be advised how many sessions would be anticipated for your specific issue. In most cases, 3-4 sessions maybe sufficient, followed by some maintenance sessions if required.
Sessions can take place in-person at Cheshire Wellness Centre clinic or online via a secure video call.
