Stephanie Kenzie
ADHD & Autism Assessment Team
I am an experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber with over 20 years of practice across mental health, primary care, and specialist ADHD services within the NHS. My passion lies in improving the quality of life for adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) through safe, effective, and person-centred pharmacological care.
I have worked within NHS Adult ADHD services across Cheshire, Wirral, and Liverpool, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to support accurate diagnosis, evidence-based prescribing, and ongoing medicines optimisation. My approach integrates the latest clinical guidance with a strong focus on patient education, lifestyle modification, and shared decision-making.
My career spans a wide range of clinical environments, including work in mental health NHS Trusts, general practice, and Australian healthcare settings at The Townsville Hospital and James Cook University in Queensland. These diverse experiences have shaped my holistic understanding of ADHD treatment — from initial assessment through to long-term medication management and lifestyle support.
I hold certification from UKAAN (UK Adult ADHD Network) in The Diagnosis and Assessment of Adults with ADHD and The Pharmacological Treatment of ADHD. My training in Motivational Interviewing and Lifestyle Medicine complements my clinical practice, enabling me to guide patients in building sustainable routines that enhance focus, wellbeing, and adherence to treatment.
In addition to my clinical work, I have contributed to research on reducing overmedication and improving prescribing safety for individuals with learning disabilities and autism as part of the STOMP (Stopping Over-Medication of People with a Learning Disability, Autism or Both) initiative — work that was published nationally.
