I am a high-performance counselling psychologist trained in all the major therapy approaches. This enables me to work as an integrative practitioner meaning I can provide a flexible approach to how and where we do therapy that is tailored around you. Within my private practice, alongside the beautiful setting of Cheshire Wellness Centre, I also offer a unique option of outdoor therapy in the fresh air and connected to nature. My experience shows that outdoor therapy in a natural setting can be a great healer.
I am passionate about demystifying the world of psychology. Sometimes it can seem impossible to navigate the many different types of psychologists and their approaches. Therefore, I have made it my mission to add clarity to a cluttered and confusing industry. On my website TwizellPsychology.com I include brief descriptions of some professions with pros and cons and advice on what questions to ask your therapist to help navigate through any confusion. So, regardless of whether you choose to work with me, hopefully this guidance will be of some help for you to provide some clarity on the different types of therapists.
I am also a published, peer-reviewed author with a specific focus on therapy in sport and exercise environments. My work also addresses racism in football and how to best utilise mental health and wellbeing services within elite sporting environments.
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and the BPS (British Psychological Society). As well as founding Twizell Psychology, I also work as a specialist psychologist for the NHS. I gained my professional doctorate from The University of Manchester Counselling Psychology Programme.
