I am a qualified integrative Psychotherapist (MBACP, Prof.Dip Psi C.) working with both teens (16 and above) and adults. I have experience working with individuals specifically around grief, bereavement and relationships. In all aspects of life, we somehow loose someone or something, be it a dream or a job or a loved one, that rocks our world and trying to steady the balance can be challenging. Being an integrative counsellor allows me to adapt my approach to suit your individual needs and help you gain a sense of clarity and stability.
I work mainly as a Person-centred therapist but will pull on a variety of beneficial approaches including CBT, Psychodynamic and Humanistic Theories (including Gestalt and Transactional Analysis) to ensure the best possible outcome. I work very much with a Psychosynthesis approach which focuses on personal growth and development, which allows me to share my life experiences where beneficial.
In addition to my private practice, I have experience working with individuals and beneficiaries of The Joshua Tree who are experiencing a childhood cancer diagnosis within the family, including bereavement and pre-bereavement support.
I understand that seeking help from a counsellor can be a daunting experience and finding the right therapist is fundamental to your experience in therapy. I create a welcoming and supportive environment, based on respect, empathy and trust, where you feel in control of your own therapeutic process. Sessions are based on what you choose to bring and explore. You may be feeling a multitude of emotions resulting from recent or past experience or struggling to cope with a life-changing event affecting you or a loved one. I offer a safe non-judgemental space to explore and navigate your emotional challenges and feelings in a setting that you feel most comfortable.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
