Jen Rossall

Hello, my name is Jenna and I’m a Level 4 trainee counsellor and as a member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) I adhere to their ethical framework.

I have lived and worked in many different countries including Hong Kong and Quebec, Canada. I have a passion for travelling, learning languages and experiencing different cultures as I feel this broadens my understanding of individual experience. I love to connect with others from different walks of life and have a real passion for understanding people’s stories.

During my time in Hong Kong I worked as a volunteer for the Samaritans alongside being a practice coordinator in a mental health centre. Coupled with my own personal counselling journey dealing with grief, OCD and anxiety, this opened my eyes to the importance of mental health and getting the support we need when times get tough.

I work from an integrative approach which means I incorporate different theories into my work to tailor my approach to the individual needs of my clients. I use the foundations of the person-centred approach (congruence, empathy and unconditional positive regard) to build a strong relationship with the client focusing on relational depth. I will often use Gestalt techniques where I focus on how we store our emotions in our body and how a lot of our healing begins with our mind.

I strongly believe in mental health being accessible to all regardless of your financial position or cultural reservations. There are certain issues that will affect us all in our lives, and I would love to help guide and support you through whatever you may currently be facing.
