I am a highly skilled Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 30 years experience of working in NHS Mental Health settings. I graduated with a first class degree in Psychology in 1993 (Bsc Hons) and received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 1997. I have worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the last 17 years in a leadership position (NHS).
I have expertise in providing psychological assessment and therapy for people with a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I draw on a range of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness and Dialectic Behaviour Therapy skills (DBT). I tailor my therapeutic approach to the needs of the individual and I am truly passionate about empowering people to make meaningful changes in their lives.
My experiences have shaped me into a warm, relatable, compassionate Psychologist who is able to help each client feel supported through their therapy journey. I like sessions to be relaxed – humour alongside the heavy conversation topics is very much allowed. I have significant experience of working with people who present with complex problems and histories and am skilled in being able to flexibly use different therapeutic modalities to help clients reclaim their happiness and reach their individual goals.
I provide individualized, responsive and high quality psychological services. I offer one to one specialist assessment and treatment of a range of mental health issues including:
